The Lil’ Rascal would be the dream board for you!! This board is incredibly fast in small waves….like a fish, but it has the design features of a more modern board i.e. modern hull contours, more responsive, streamlined outline….to make it much more responsive than a traditional fish.
Hello, i was going to submit an appointment request but i am overseas and i think that it would be a little expensive for you to phone here, so i thought it a better idea to email, hope you dont mind:
My name is Nikai Bloor, 31yrs of age.Height:1,76. Weight: 154. experience: 12 yrs, on and off depending on where i was living. When i lived in England only once a week or even once every two weeks. When i lived in Costa Rica (1 yr), every day. When i lived in the canary islands 2/3 times a week. Now i live in south of spain for a short period of time and need a board to surf super small gutless waves. I dont want to resort to longboarding, i love pumping down the line of even the smallest wave and just trying to go crazy.I like trying airs, 360´s even though i make very few.
I want a board for small waves but that i can throw around and do shortboard manouvers on.
My regular shortboard is a 6´2 flyer II chanell island. It goes fine in the canaries in good surf but is very hard to generate speed in small stuff. I also have a 6´0 x 191/4 x 2 1/4 fish. that i absaloutely love. It just flys in small surf but also does a decent cutback, it loves doing floaters and 360´s and i have made a couple of good airs on it. But it died last week!! I need a replacement!!
I really like the look of your Lil rascal and i was also looking at the module, i also like the look of the pod by chanell island. I really liked the footage of Jay philips on the lil rascal.
But i dont know how small to go on a board like that, i am allways scared of going to small and losing the float. but then Yesterday i surfed a 6´2 fish and it felt like a boat! How small should i go?
My brother in law lives in Encenitas and is coming over soon, and could bring me the board.
I appreciate any info/advice that you can give me, in your own time, i am not in a rush. I just really want a small wave board!!! Thanks, y un abrazo desde España. Nikai.

Hi Nikai,
Nice to meet you.
The Lil’ Rascal would be the dream board for you!! This board is incredibly fast in small waves….like a fish, but it has the design features of a more modern board i.e. modern hull contours, more responsive, streamlined outline….to make it much more responsive than a traditional fish. I recommend going 5’8” - 5’10” x 19 ¾” x 2 5/16”. This is the best small wave board I make….it’s almost like cheating how fast you can get going on little nothing waves….and do full rail arcing turns even when there is no lip coming back at you. I actually have a red one in stock here that I think is 5’9” that would work insane for you….it is 5’9” x 19 7/8” x 2 3/8”….or you can order a custom. You can go pretty short because the rocker/ bottom curve is very flat and the volume of the foam is carried out to the rail; making for a great paddling board. For instance, I am 5‘11” and 165lbs….my normal shortboard is 6’1” x 18 ½” x 2 ¼” and I ride a 5’6” x 19 ½” x 2 5/16” Rascal….and my Rascal paddles me better and gets me into waves easier than my normal shortboard.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I know you would be stoked on a magic Proctor Rascal.
Looking forward to you reply,
Aloha,
Todd

Hi Todd, thankyou soo much for your response to my letter, I too think that the Lil Rascal would be the perfect board for what i am looking for, I am going to trust you and most probably go for a 5′8”/5′10”. I was wondering if you had a clear one, no flashy colors, and if not how long would it take to shape one.
And if possible could you let me know the price, and please let me know the best way to pay for it. Thankyou so much for your help. (shame you dont shape in spain !!) chao. Nikai

Nikai,
Hello. Todd asked me to respond to your questions below. He does have a 5’6” and a 6’0” Rascal in stock. I am sending links to both of them so that you can see them here:
http://www.proctorsurf.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3EF8A41D-3048-2950-56700FA3D4B82D13 (the 6’0” has black logos, not red)

If you would prefer ordering a custom Lil’ Rascal, the polyester construction would be $555 with no graphics. If you would like the Proctor PROXY custom epoxy construction, that would be $715 and the epoxy comes with an airbrush. It takes approximately 8 weeks for a custom surfboard to be made. We do a 50% down payment to begin the board and the balance when the board is completed.
If you would like to go ahead and order a Lil’ Rascal, just let us know and we will send you an invoice and the payment information.
If you would like to have the board shipped, I can get you a shipping quote if you send me your exact shipping address.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Charissa

Hi Todd/Charissa, sorry to be so annoying, but i think that 5′6” is a little too small and 6′0” a little too big. I thought i would be able to order one but my brother in law leaves the states for spain on the 10th of January, as he is the one that is bringing it too me !! I know i said no flashy colors but do you still have the red one??
If not maybe you could let me know how much it would be to ship to spain? thanks Nikai.

Hi Nikai,
No problem man….I want you to have a sick Proctor, and will do our best to make it happen for you!!
We’ve got a sick red one that is 5′9″ x 19 3/4″ x 2 5/16″ that has a five fin set-up (can be ridden as quad or thruster) - this one is in stock and ready right now if you’d like it….Or we could dial in a clear custom for you to be done before your bro leaves….
Let me know what you would like to do.
Looking forward to your reply,
Aloha,
Todd

HI Todd and charissa. Youve just made me very happy, it would be insane if you could make me a clear custom rascal. I think after what you said about the size id go with a, 5′8” x 19 7/8 x 2 3/8”.
Does that sound ok to you ? Black logo sounds good or whatever is easier for you guys.
Also could i get the Deluxe Dakine board bag and a traction grip and leash.
I can pay full amount or fifty percent whichever you prefer.
Thankyou both for all your help, it really does make a diferance. If you ever need a representative in Spain and the Canaries let me know ! Muchisimas Gracias.
Saludos, nikai

Nikai,
Hello. Yes, we can make you a custom clear Rascal and have it done for your brother in law to take with him on the 10th of January. Will he pick it up at our shop?
I will send you an invoice with a detailed breakdown for the order and also the wire transfer information. Since it will be a rush on the board, you will need to wire the full amount up front. That way we can get the board done quickly and there will no holdup in getting it to your brother in law on time.
Also, in order to get it done in time, Todd recommends two upgrades, the Y2k UV light cure resin $20, and the Direct Size cloth. These add strength and durability to your board as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
All the best,
Charissa

Hi charissa, thankyou for the speedy response. That all sounds fine, i like the idea of the upgrades too, i meant to ask you about them before but forgot so its good that you are doing those for me.
My brother in law lives in Carlsbad so i was wondering if you could ship the board there for me, do you think there will be enough time?
Let me know how much more that will be. thanks again. nikai
Thank you both. regards nikai
