The Lil’ Rascal is a great board….kinda makes small wave surfing feel like your cheating by how easy it is to get speed and throw down turns where normally anyone would be bogging.
I’m Looking at ordering a board from you guys. I had a friend that has a lil rascal and loves it. I’m a intermediate surfer who has been out of the game for about 3 years , I’m living in Tahoe right now. I’m headed down on a surf trip to Nicaragua soon and need a new board. Kinda looking for a suggestion , im around 5’10” 175 lbs. I wont be surfing anything much bigger than a foot overhead, I get New Jersey summers too. What do you suggest for me.

Sorry to not get back to you sooner….have been really busy here.
The Lil’ Rascal is a great board….kinda makes small wave surfing feel like your cheating by how easy it is to get speed and throw down turns where normally anyone would be bogging. The only thing is that I didn’t design it to be an all-around type of shortboard design….it is more of a specialty for small wave surfing. I’m not sure if this would be the best choice for handling in Nicaragua since you can get some pretty heavy waves there. You may want to go for more of an all-around shortboard design such as the Groveler IV.p…this is a really versatile shortboard that generates speed on its own in small waves, yet holds in and drives fast and loose in the top-to-bottom punchier stuff as well.
As for New Jersey summer, the Rascal is going to be the best board you could possibly have for that type of what is mostly very small and mushy.
And as far as dimensions go, if you would let me know what you used to ride (dimensions wise) three years ago….this will help me to gauge what would be the best thing for you getting back into it now.
