This is for our patented flexible epoxy technology which is unique from all other epoxy surfboards available today and is recommended only based on the feedback from our boardline.
Todd,
I was checking out your website and I had a few questions about the flexible epoxy.
1. Is ding repair difficult?
2. When ordering one would I use the same dimensions I use for a standard foam board? I ride a 6’5” 191/2 2 ½ squash tail thruster.
Thanks,
Sean Malley

Sean, I answered your questions below…..
1. Is ding repair difficult? No…just use epoxy resin as opposed to polyester…same procedure just different resin. You get less dings also…
2. When ordering one would I use the same dimensions I use for a standard foam board? I ride a 6’5” 191/2 2 ½ squash tail thruster. I recommend going 1/8” thinner and a little shorter and narrower because of the added buoyancy i.e. 6’4” x 19 ¼” x 2 3/8”. This is for our patented flexible epoxy technology which is unique from all other epoxy surfboards available today and is recommended only based on the feedback from our boardline.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
I know you would be stoked on a magic Proctor.
Looking forward to your reply,
Aloha,
Todd

Todd,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
The only other question I have right now is what is the life expectancy of your Flexible Epoxy boards?
I’ve been doing research into different types of board building materials and I really want my next board to by something different. I used to have a Greg Loehr epoxy when I lived on the east coast and I really liked the board, but I came to realize it was too narrow for me.
Do any shops in San Diego carry our boards? I’d like to go have a look if they do.
Thanks,
Sean Malley

Sean…
The life expectancy of the epoxies is relative to the person…because, as always, it’s too difficult to take into account how any given person will treat their board as well as wave conditions that lead to board damages. The bottom line is that the Flexible Epoxy is much more durable and stronger than a polyester, but we can’t make a claim as to the life expectancy in terms of years, etc.
They are going to maintain the spring and memory for 5 times longer than a polyester and do not bubble or delam. So barring a mishap they should last you a very long time.
We don’t have any boards as shops in San Diego because Todd specializes in customizing boards directly for his clients. The easiest way to do this is to set up a time to discuss your board options with him on the phone. His best times are between 1 pm – 4pm Monday through Friday, but he can work with your schedule. Let us know what a good number is to reach you and a good time if you’d like to discuss a custom board with Todd on the phone.
Also, if you send your address, I can mail you our Proctor Board Catalogue. This is very helpful in reviewing your options as well!
Todd will make you a magic board!
Mahalo
